Our Partners

Prosperity Initiative believes that scale and sustainability depends on strong partnerships and collaborations. We are committed to finding ways of achieving win-win situations between development organisations, government agencies and businesses to promote the interests of the poor.

We value partnership and seek to find synergy with the work and skills of others whenever possible, complementing it and adding value. We seek out local thought leaders and change agents, seeing them as the catalysts of change. We build local organisations and take care not to crowd out nascent players in new or underdeveloped market systems. We work openly with others, sharing ideas, experiences and the outcomes of our work; moving forward the practice of private sector development.

We carefully develop multi-party relationships and networks, and we believe that one of our main organisational assets is the manner in which we think about the role of others, and about transition and exit strategies from the beginning. We believe a productive public-private collaboration is the ideal in market development and support the following to work together on new initiatives:

  • Business people and investors who take risks and develop their interests in market sectors
  • Sector peak bodies, service providers and other players adding value to and resourced by the sector
  • Governments responsible for promoting sectors, governing markets and representing the interests of poor people

Prosperity Initiative is supported by project funders and operational collaborators whose missions and resource commitments address poverty alleviation through market forces.
